A native of Michigan, Val moved south to begin her career in Charlotte with Edgeview Partners, where she focused on middle-market sell-side advisory. Following her time as an analyst, she moved to the buy-side, working for both financial and strategic acquirors. Most recently, Val was on the corporate development and investor relations teams at Babcock & Wilcox, where she played a pivotal role in the 2015 spin-off of the commercial power generation and industrial business.

Val’s insight draws upon experience from the client perspective as well as the advisor’s, making her a well-rounded member of the North Inlet team. Her background includes financial and business due diligence, contract negotiation, integration and synergy realization, internal process management and investor relations.

Val earned her B.A. in economics from Vanderbilt University and her MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. While at Vanderbilt, Val competed in both cross-country and track and field, and she remains a competitive runner, cyclist and mountain biker. She also actively serves within her faith community at Forest Hill Church. Val resides in south Charlotte with her husband and daughter.
